I’m Alex! An amateur photography, nature observer and wildlife enthusiast. I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2020 for a scientist role in Biotech. Since then, I have been captivated by the variety and diversity of wildlife and natural spaces within my new local area. Having no formal background in the outdoors or photography, I have been happily reinventing the wheel and discovering all that these disciplines have to offer.

Birding About The Bay is my attempt at a blog and photography site to catalogue and share my continuing learnings about nature, birds and the art of making pictures. I aim to emphasize local, unassuming outdoor spaces within the San Francisco Bay Area, and share moments I have along the way. I hope these pages and ramblings may solidify my own thoughts and with luck provide some light entertainment!
